Good mornin', bestie! ☕💕

Go grab your coffee... or your sweet tea if that's more your speed. Pull up a chair and let's visit for a minute before the day gets away from us.

Can I let you in on a little secret? 

Some mornings I wake up thinking, "Today's the day."

I'm gonna get dressed.

Fix my hair.

Put on a little mascara.

Be productive.

Cross everything off my to-do list.

Maybe even fold that laundry that's been living in the basket so long it's practically paying rent.

Then...

Life happens.

The dog throws up.

A chicken gets out.

One of the goats decides the fence is more of a suggestion than a rule.

My coffee gets cold.

Josh hollers, "Hey, can you come here for a second?" (And we all know that "one second" is never one second. 😂)

Before I know it, it's three o'clock, my hair's in a messy bun, I've got dirt on my shirt, and I'm wondering if deodorant counts as getting ready for the day.

And you know what?

That's okay.

Somehow we've convinced ourselves that if we aren't checking every box, wearing cute clothes, and posting productive pictures online, we're falling behind.

Who made that rule?

Because I would like to have a little chat with them.

Life isn't a competition to see who has the prettiest planner or the cleanest house.

Some seasons are for growing.

Some seasons are for resting.

And some seasons are just about keeping everybody alive until bedtime.

I've had all three.

I've also learned something...

The people who love you don't care if your hair is perfect.

They don't notice if your eyeliner matches.

They aren't keeping score on how many loads of laundry you finished.

They're just happy to have you.

So if today is one of those days where all you managed to do was drink your coffee, love your family, feed the animals, and make it through...

I'd call that a pretty successful day.

Grace isn't something we earn after we've had a productive week.

It's something we're given every single day.

So give yourself a little of that grace too.

The laundry will still be there tomorrow.

Trust me.

Mine has already confirmed its attendance. 😂
