Can we talk about Facebook for a second?

I swear, if you scroll long enough, you'll start wondering if you're the only person whose life isn't perfectly color-coded.

Somebody's kitchen looks like it belongs in a magazine.

Somebody else is on a tropical vacation.

Karen's husband just surprised her with a brand-new truck.

Susan made homemade sourdough, fresh strawberry jam, and hand-stitched matching outfits for her entire family... before 8:00 this morning.

Meanwhile...

I'm over here trying to figure out why there's a chicken standing on my porch like she pays the mortgage.

My coffee has been reheated three times.

There's probably goat hair on my shirt.

And if we're being completely honest... I have absolutely no idea where my phone is. It's probably in the refrigerator. Again.

Here's the thing, though...

Facebook is everybody's highlight reel.

Nobody posts the pile of laundry they shoved in the bedroom five minutes before company came over.

Nobody posts about the argument they had with their spouse over whose turn it was to take out the trash.

Nobody posts the tears they cried in the shower because life felt heavy that day.

We compare our everyday lives to everybody else's best moments, and that's just not a fair fight.

Your life doesn't have to look perfect to be beautiful.

Sometimes the beautiful moments are the ones that never make it online.

They're the belly laughs around the dinner table.

The muddy boots by the back door.

The quiet cup of coffee before everyone else wakes up.

The dog laying at your feet.

The text from a friend checking on you.

The prayer God answered that nobody else even knew you were praying.

Those are the moments that matter.

So today, don't let somebody else's filtered life make you forget how blessed your own really is.

Your story doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

It's yours.

And that's what makes it beautiful.

Now if you'll excuse me... I really should go find my phone before I accuse Josh of hiding it. Again. 😂
