Coffee with Redneck Cinderella #6: Some People Are Just Looking for a Reason to Be Mad Real conversations. Real life. Real coffee. ☕❤️

Good mornin', bestie!

I don't know who needs to hear this today...

Actually... I do.

Me. 🤣

Have you ever bent over backwards trying to make somebody happy?

You explained yourself.

You apologized.

You fixed the misunderstanding.

You gave them the benefit of the doubt.

You even replayed the conversation in your head about 47 times trying to figure out what you could've done differently.

...and they were still mad.

Friend...

Sometimes people don't want a solution.

They want to stay offended.

I know. I don't like it either.

I used to think if I could just explain myself one more time...

If I could just find the right words...

If I could just get them to understand my heart...

Everything would be okay.

Turns out...

Some folks have already made up their minds before you ever opened your mouth.

And here's the thing...

That isn't your job to fix.

You are not responsible for managing everyone else's emotions.

Read that again.

Now one more time for the people in the back.

You can be kind without being a doormat.

You can love people without letting them walk all over you.

You can forgive someone without inviting them back to wreck your peace.

Even Jesus had people who misunderstood Him.

If the Son of God couldn't make everybody happy...

What makes us think we're gonna pull it off?

Whew.

That one'll preach. ❤️

Now don't misunderstand me.

If we're wrong...

Own it.

Apologize.

Make it right.

That's called character.

But once you've done that...

Quit carrying guilt that doesn't belong to you.

Some people are committed to misunderstanding you because it's easier than changing themselves.

And that's between them and God.

Not you.

So stop losing sleep trying to convince people who have already decided not to listen.

Spend that energy loving the people who already know your heart.

Life's too short to audition for a role in somebody else's story.

Coffee Question of the Week

Have you ever spent way too much time trying to explain yourself... only to realize the other person had already decided how they felt?

How'd you handle it?

Let's talk about it.

One Last Sip...

Not everyone has to understand you.

Not everyone has to like you.

But you do owe yourself the peace that comes from knowing you acted with integrity.

Do your best.

Trust God with the rest.

And leave the drama to daytime TV.

See ya next Monday, bestie... the coffee's on me. ☕💕
