Dear Fall... We’ve Been Waiting for You 🍂🤎

Dear Fall... We’ve Been Waiting for You 🍂🤎

Y'all...

I don't want to rush summer...

But...

Actually...

Yes, I do. 🤣

By the time October rolls around, I'm over the million degree heat.

I'm over sweating before I even finish my coffee.

I'm over opening the front door and feeling like somebody just opened the oven.

I'm ready for crisp mornings.

Windows open.

Coffee on the porch.

And hoodie season.

Not because hoodies are cute...

Although they are.

Because putting on a hoodie is like getting a hug you didn't have to ask for. 🤎

There's just something about that first chilly morning.

You walk outside with your coffee...

Take a deep breath...

And think,

"Finally..."

No mosquitoes trying to carry you away.

No heat index making the weather app look like a warning label.

Just cool air...

And the smell of fall.

Now...

Let's be honest.

Fall in Tennessee likes to play games.

You leave the house at 7:00 looking like you're headed to a bonfire.

By 2:00 that afternoon...

You're wondering why you thought wearing a hoodie was a good idea.

It's hoodie weather before breakfast...

Tank top weather by lunch...

Back to hoodie weather before supper.

Mother Nature can't commit.

🤣

And can we talk about that one hoodie?

Not the new one.

Not the fancy one.

The old one.

The faded one.

The one that's soft because it's been washed approximately 4,782 times.

The one with the tiny paint stain, the coffee spot you pretend isn't there, and a little dog hair woven into the fabric.

That's the one you reach for every single time.

It's not a hoodie anymore...

It's a lifestyle.

😂

Fall just feels different.

The coffee tastes better. ☕

The sunsets seem prettier. 🌅

The air smells cleaner.

The leaves start showing off. 🍁

Football is back. 🏈

Bonfires are around the corner. 🔥

And somehow, life feels just a little slower.

I love that.

I think we all need a season that reminds us to slow down.

To sit on the porch a little longer.

To take the scenic route home.

To enjoy the little things.

And to appreciate the fact that we can finally wear our favorite hoodie without looking like we're training for a sauna.

🤣

So here's to fall.

To cooler mornings.

To crunchy leaves.

To oversized hoodies.

To hot coffee.

To evenings around the fire.

And to pretending we're not all secretly excited when it's finally cool enough to wear boots again.

Even if by lunchtime they're sitting in the backseat because it's 81 degrees.

🤦‍♀️😂

So tell me, bestie...

What's the very first thing that makes you think...

"Yep... fall is finally here." 🍂🤎
